Early Life

Chase Rice was born on September 19, 1985, in Florida but grew up on a farm in Asheville, North Carolina.

He attended AC Reynolds High School and later studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he played football as a linebacker for the Tar Heels.

Career Before Music

Rice's athletic career continued after college when he was selected to join Hendrick Motorsports' pit crew as the rear tire carrier for Ryan Newman's Nationwide Series car.

He also worked on Jimmie Johnson's Sprint Cup Series car and won two championships with the Lowe's team, showcasing his skills beyond music.

Survivor

Rice's appearance on Survivor: Nicaragua in 2010 brought him national attention, but he credits the experience as being more valuable than monetary gain.

He played well in challenges and formed alliances, eventually making it to the final three where he was voted out by Jud 'Fabio' Birza, who received five of the nine votes.

Country Music Career

Rice's music career took off after his appearance on Survivor, and he began releasing albums starting with Friday Nights & Sunday Mornings in 2010.

He co-wrote the diamond-certified single 'Cruise' for Florida Georgia Line and released several successful albums including Ignite the Night which debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

Recent Work

Rice has continued to release new music, including his single 'Eyes on You' which became his first number one on country radio in 2019.

He released the album The Album in 2021 and his sixth studio album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go to Hell was released in February 2023.
